Common Questions
Everything you need to know about our Latin dance workshops for adults 45 and over
Not at all! Our workshops are specifically designed for beginners with little or no dance background. We start with the fundamentals of rhythm and basic steps, building your confidence at a pace that feels comfortable. Many of our participants have never danced before, and that's exactly who we teach.
Bachata is slower and more intimate, with a romantic 4-count rhythm and close partner connection. Salsa is faster and more energetic, with a syncopated 8-count pattern and sharper movements. We teach both so you can discover which style speaks to you—or learn to love them both! They complement each other beautifully and give you flexibility on the dance floor.
No, you don't! We rotate partners throughout class so everyone gets equal practice in both leading and following roles. This approach helps you build confidence and connect with different people. Many of our participants come solo, and we've had couples meet and become regular dance partners through our workshops.
Our monthly fiesta events are social celebrations with live musicians performing authentic Latin music. You'll dance with what you've learned in class while enjoying the energy of a real community event. Don't worry about perfection—fiestas are about joy, connection, and celebrating together. We also welcome friends and family, so it's a great way to share your progress with people you care about.
We run weekend workshops every month at multiple locations across Switzerland, including Zurich, Geneva, Basel, and Lausanne. Each workshop is a full Saturday or Sunday session, and our intensive courses span 4-6 weeks. Check our schedule page for upcoming dates and locations nearest to you—most people find a workshop within an hour's drive.
Yes! We include a dedicated session on dance floor etiquette and confidence in our curriculum. You'll learn how to respectfully ask someone to dance, how to navigate a crowded floor, and the unwritten rules that make social dancing enjoyable for everyone. This knowledge removes a lot of the anxiety people feel about attending real dance events.
